Club members wishing to lead club paddling activities may follow the formal route, gaining relevant qualifications from British Canoeing (Paddlesport Leader as a minimum), or may choose to seek "internal sign-off" by following a process of development and observation within the club environment. The process by which internal sign-off may be gained is described in our Internal Sign-off Process document - click here to view.
The process is supported by our formally qualified club leaders and enables members to lead club trips within defined site specific, environmental and other boundaries. It was reviewed by British Canoeing as part of our Clubmark and Quality Mark assessments: having gained both endorsements we believe that the process was recognised as sufficiently comprehensive to enable your Trustees and Committee to be confident in the capabilities and competence of internally signed-off members and deploy them to lead for the club.
